Getting to know – Anthony Lyons

This week we had the pleasure of a casual chat with our VP for Customer Success here at Getvisibility in Cork – our very own Mayo man, Anthony Lyons. (Mayo is a place in Ireland, it doesn’t mean he loves egg based condiments)

What does your job entail?
I engage with our customers right through their journey with Getvisibility. It’s amazing to see how we have helped customers solve really complex and serious problems with their data.

What do you like most about your job?
It’s certainly varied – we are very agile and able to respond to our customers’ needs. We are growing like crazy too so meeting and hiring new people is always a fun part of the job

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I can crack open an egg with one hand.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Most likely cleaning up after the kids

What’s your favourite indoor/outdoor activity?
I enjoy a bit of running every now and then. Hiking and GAA
(for our Non-Irish readers  – The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is an amateur sporting organisation, focused primarily on promoting Gaelic games including hurling, camogie and football. There is a GAA club to be found in every town, village and townland in Ireland) – editor

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Understand everything as best as you can – be it people, product or process. Life is tricky, you never know what’s going on in the background in someone’s life

How would you describe the people and culture at Getvisibility?
Our people are fantastic, collaborative, fun and friendly. All our new hires have the same feedback, everyone makes time to help and mentor. The culture is really open and collegial with everyone solving problems in an innovative and hands-on way

What is your motto or personal mantra?
Mayo4Sam

(refers to aforementioned GAA and Anthony’s wish to bring the top accolade to his home County of Mayo. It hasn’t happened since 1951 despite Mayo reaching the final 11 times – but they are ever hopeful!
The Sam Maguire Cup, often referred to as Sam or The Sam is the name of the cup that is awarded to winners of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in the game of Gaelic football played in Ireland.) – editor

What tv show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love?
Oh Gawd …. Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road trip

(Irish Singer, Daniel O’Donnell and his wife, Majella) – editor 😮

If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Teleportation. A weekend away to the other side of the world would be very easy
